The National Customer Foot Traffic Report by Adentro tracked customer traffic trends across the United States from January 2021 through April 2022. It compared customer visits to brick-and-mortar businesses each month with visits in January 2021, and it was published monthly, first under the Zenreach name. This page preserves the final edition. The report is no longer updated.
What the data showed
- Visits rose every month from February to July 2021. By July, foot traffic was +43.87% above January 2021.
- The single busiest day was July 17, 2021, at +59.82%. The quietest was December 25, 2021, at -9.19%.
- Cafes and bakeries recovered fastest, reaching +59.17% in July 2021.
- Traffic dipped over the winter, to +14.82% in January 2022, then climbed back to +36.49% by April 2022.

Built from real walk-ins.
The report was built from walk-in data: foot traffic and behavioral data collected through in-store WiFi and point-of-sale integrations at thousands of US locations. At the time of publication, the network spanned 50 million contacts.
Each daily value is a 7-day rolling average, normalized against foot traffic observed on January 1, 2021. Monthly figures are the average of the daily values. The report covered three business types: bars and nightclubs, cafes and bakeries, and restaurants.
