The Social Diner brings visit measurement to restaurant agency clients

The Social Diner already built marketing programs for hospitality clients, but email opens and online feedback were not enough to demonstrate what happened in their dining rooms.

About a 33% increase in overall star ratings for clients, by the owner's estimate. Return visits after email tracked through Walk-Through Rate™.

The challenge

Andrew Voirol's agency sells marketing to restaurants. Agencies that can't prove they drive visits get shown the door.

The first gap was no proof of foot traffic. He wanted offline conversion measurement against his digital campaigns.

A second challenge was manual contact collection. Clients relied on comment cards and fishbowls of business cards.

The remaining issue was slow reputation response. A lag in answering complaints online meant a worse experience for guests.

The solution

Create the data foundation: contacts without the fishbowl. Adentro (formerly Zenreach) let clients' guests trade their email for access through a branded Guest WiFi portal. Each connection recorded the visit and built a Customer Data profile. Client lists kept growing and refreshing with current info.

Deliver the campaign: timed offers from visit data. Audience Segmentation let Andrew spot guests who hadn't been in for some time. Email Marketing sent them a timed offer to come back. Birthday emails went out the same way.

Deliver the campaign: feedback before the review. For some clients, Andrew used Adentro to solicit feedback and get real-time alerts about bad experiences. Clients fixed issues before they became bad reviews. Positive experiences went to preferred review sites.

Read the outcome: showing ROI to clients. Walk-Through Rate™ showed Andrew how many customers came back after an email. That is the proof his business depends on.

Why the combination mattered

Guest WiFi created client contact data without manual cards; Audience Segmentation and Email Marketing supplied relevant return offers; a separate feedback workflow surfaced guest issues; and Walk-Through Rate™ measured observed return visits. The 33% review-rating increase is the agency owner's estimate, not a controlled finding.

The results

  • About 33% increase in overall star ratings, on average (Andrew: "It's tough to quantify")
  • Positive feedback increasing since implementing Adentro
  • Partner since 2017, described as Adentro's most successful partner
